Holiday Treats

Have you utilized Pintrest for your holiday decorations, gift ides, treats, and so on?? If you haven't.. you have been missing out!

We are here to help.

Today's lesson is on what kind of treats and goodies you can make for your loved ones this holiday... thank you Pintrest!

Here are some great, cute, fun ideas that can help spice up your holiday spirit, and possibly catch you some compliments from the mother-in-law.

How about some holiday truffles?

These are called "eggnog truffles": However, there is no eggnog in them.

Baked them and LOVED them. Be careful though, they are very FILLING!

These look so delicious. Some people may not enjoy the cream cheese factor in the last truffles, but these would probably be a hit with most people.

Plus, they would taste GREAT with a cup of hot cocoa!

Now for some easy baking...

What does this call for...sugar cookie dough and some rollos?! How easy is that!

And this...
You know you can't go wrong with chocolate and pretzels!
It's the perfect blend of salty and sweet.

How about some good eats for everyone?
This edible wreath is so easy to make and a great finger food idea!

How about something for Christmas morning?
This looks great and probably tastes even better!

Lastly, to top it all off...
Let's see how many ways we can jazz up our hot cocoa....

Candy canes for dipping
Or you can really go all out and have candy canes in marshmallows that were dipped in white chocolate and rolled in sugar for hot cocoa dipping... mmmmmmm <3
These were delicious!

Frozen whipped toppings that are in different cut out shapes
Or.
Frozen whipped toppings for later that are elegant

Hope those treats help you become the favorite holiday host this year! And if you haven't already... check out Pintrest!

Winter Wedding Tips

At the Garden Room, we can't wait for our winter weddings!

With the snow falling and the lights up outside, our venue is already wonderful. Add holiday decorations, dim lighting, and a beautiful couple... and you really have a BEAUTIFUL venue!

Here are some ideas we have seen (at the Garden Room and on Pintrest):

Idea 1; A hot cocoa bar for your guests!

You can have individual cups that are decorated to fit the theme. Some additional touches might be candy canes, marshmallows, whipped cream, or even cinnamon sticks!

Look at the cute sign for this cocoa bar!

Idea 2; Pine cones!!!
There are cone place cards! Look at these cute little place cards. How simple and cheap this would be!
You can add cute ribbons, cards, or even some glitter to spice them up.

You can decorate pine cones and drape them around tables.

You can even use them in centerpiece displays or as a candle holder!

Idea 3; Winter branches and baby's breath!

These are two very winter and very elegant items that can add the "wow" factor to any wedding!

The branches can drape lights, jewels, or can even be dipped in glitter!

Baby's breath looks great in table center pieces, bouquets, or put in with little gifts for your guests.

It is also a busy time of the season. With family in town, holiday parties, and gift exchanges... the Garden Room is where it's at!

Why not come see the place for yourself!
With the snow, decorations, and smell of holiday meals coming from our kitchen.... we can guarantee you will have chosen the PERFECT place for your event this winter.

Why the Garden Room is called the GARDEN Room

Did you know:
the Garden Room is known for its greenery?" Our venue keeps its green all year long inside, and provides a beautiful view of the seasonal changes outside!

The Garden Room has unique dimensions and HUGE windows which keep the room open and spacious. The windows bring in natural lighting and there's even lights outside on the bushes to add some sparkle in the evening. If you are planning a wedding, the large windows are used as the backdrop for the main table!

We have fake and real foliage inside!
Our rustic and unique light posts line the isle and illuminate to add an extra "ambiance" to the room. The light posts have fake foliage wrapped around them, but we suggest bringing in some real flowers and dolling it up. They really look beautiful once our guests add their own special touch.

What other venues do you know of that has beautiful light posts inside?!
Just another reason why the Garden Room is used for so many events that people originally wanted outside! Many people decide the Garden Room is a safe alternative if the weather was bad. It honestly is the closest thing to being outside! (Which we do offer for smaller weddings!)

We have real foliage in front by big windows that arches on both sides. There is also foliage in our main entrance way that we grow year long

Outside, the big windows are great for showing off the changing in the seasons. The leaves may be bright colors, blooming, a wonderful green, or even falling and you may not know what the weather will be like. That is why many people choose us!

If its snowing:
our venue is the absolute hot spot! You can be assured that you will stay warm in our venue when the snow is falling or when the weather is harsh. AND you will get the view of a lifetime! Christmas parties, secret Santa exchanges, family get-togethers, and many weddings are hosted at our venue around the holidays. Want a white Christmas.. how about a white wedding?!

Our venue is great for any season, and can give you that outside feel without the worries of the ever changing weather. Our foliage adds a magical feel to the room, and the windows will awe all of your guests! Just a few bonuses the Garden Room offers its guests.  Book now with the Garden Room and plan your event. :)

The Wedding Fair!

Have you ever been to the Wedding Fair at the Minneapolis Convention Center?

The Garden Room was a first-timer this year and let us tell you... it was amazing!

Three wonderful women were there to represent the Garden Room~ Cindy Walker (Event Coordinator), Katelyn ( Bartender/Experienced in events of all kinds), and Celess (Marketing Specialist).

Welcome to Our Booth!

What is the Wedding Fair you ask?
The Wedding Fair is basically a big one-stop-shop for all of your bridal needs! There were event venues, caterers  dentistry booths, Tupperware booths, bridal shops, bakeries, and of course photographers of all kinds. - and that's just some of the different vendors!

We had such a fun time talking to all the newly engaged brides and grooms to be! There were brides with their family, brides with their fiances, brides with their friends, and even some women who weren't engaged yet and just wanted to see what was there! (No judging- this event was awesome- who wouldn't want to come- engaged or not!)

We all had a lot of fun informing and introducing everyone to our "hidden gem".The Garden Room was so lucky to be able to talk to sooo many potential Garden Room lovers!

What did we do?
Besides talking to the brides we also made sure we were prepared to show them all the Garden Room can offer!

We recommend that if you missed out this year.. to make sure to visit the Garden Room next time. BECAUSE- we. had. treats!
We created a fun, unique post card

We had candy and lip balm for all!

We even had a GREAT deal for the curious brides out there..

What about the other vendors?
Well, not only did we have treats, but we got a nice treat ourselves! Our neighbor was a singer- she was an amazing one at that! Her name was Lauren Redpath, and from what we saw, she was one of the few wedding vocalists at the event (lucky right!).

We decided to take a walk around in shifts and see all the great vendors the Wedding Fair had to offer!

Festivities)

and many more...
Basically, if you have been there you know how fun and wonderful it is. If you haven't been there, mark your calendars and make sure to come visit our booth next time!!!
