Why the Garden Room is called the GARDEN Room

Did you know:
the Garden Room is known for its greenery?" Our venue keeps its green all year long inside, and provides a beautiful view of the seasonal changes outside!

The Garden Room has unique dimensions and HUGE windows which keep the room open and spacious. The windows bring in natural lighting and there's even lights outside on the bushes to add some sparkle in the evening. If you are planning a wedding, the large windows are used as the backdrop for the main table!

We have fake and real foliage inside!
Our rustic and unique light posts line the isle and illuminate to add an extra "ambiance" to the room. The light posts have fake foliage wrapped around them, but we suggest bringing in some real flowers and dolling it up. They really look beautiful once our guests add their own special touch.

What other venues do you know of that has beautiful light posts inside?!
Just another reason why the Garden Room is used for so many events that people originally wanted outside! Many people decide the Garden Room is a safe alternative if the weather was bad. It honestly is the closest thing to being outside! (Which we do offer for smaller weddings!)

We have real foliage in front by big windows that arches on both sides. There is also foliage in our main entrance way that we grow year long

Outside, the big windows are great for showing off the changing in the seasons. The leaves may be bright colors, blooming, a wonderful green, or even falling and you may not know what the weather will be like. That is why many people choose us!

If its snowing:
our venue is the absolute hot spot! You can be assured that you will stay warm in our venue when the snow is falling or when the weather is harsh. AND you will get the view of a lifetime! Christmas parties, secret Santa exchanges, family get-togethers, and many weddings are hosted at our venue around the holidays. Want a white Christmas.. how about a white wedding?!

Our venue is great for any season, and can give you that outside feel without the worries of the ever changing weather. Our foliage adds a magical feel to the room, and the windows will awe all of your guests! Just a few bonuses the Garden Room offers its guests.  Book now with the Garden Room and plan your event. :)

The Wedding Fair!

Have you ever been to the Wedding Fair at the Minneapolis Convention Center?

The Garden Room was a first-timer this year and let us tell you... it was amazing!

Three wonderful women were there to represent the Garden Room~ Cindy Walker (Event Coordinator), Katelyn ( Bartender/Experienced in events of all kinds), and Celess (Marketing Specialist).
(Image of Cindy and Katelyn <3 )

Welcome to Our Booth!

What is the Wedding Fair you ask?
The Wedding Fair is basically a big one-stop-shop for all of your bridal needs! There were event venues, caterers  dentistry booths, Tupperware booths, bridal shops, bakeries, and of course photographers of all kinds. - and that's just some of the different vendors!

We had such a fun time talking to all the newly engaged brides and grooms to be! There were brides with their family, brides with their fiances, brides with their friends, and even some women who weren't engaged yet and just wanted to see what was there! (No judging- this event was awesome- who wouldn't want to come- engaged or not!)

We all had a lot of fun informing and introducing everyone to our "hidden gem".The Garden Room was so lucky to be able to talk to sooo many potential Garden Room lovers!

What did we do?
Besides talking to the brides we also made sure we were prepared to show them all the Garden Room can offer!

We recommend that if you missed out this year.. to make sure to visit the Garden Room next time. BECAUSE- we. had. treats!
We created a fun, unique post card

We had candy and lip balm for all!

We even had a GREAT deal for the curious brides out there..

What about the other vendors?
Well, not only did we have treats, but we got a nice treat ourselves! Our neighbor was a singer- she was an amazing one at that! Her name was Lauren Redpath, and from what we saw, she was one of the few wedding vocalists at the event (lucky right!).

We decided to take a walk around in shifts and see all the great vendors the Wedding Fair had to offer!

Festivities)

and many more...
Basically, if you have been there you know how fun and wonderful it is. If you haven't been there, mark your calendars and make sure to come visit our booth next time!!!

A Beautiful Reception

At the Garden Room this weekend we had a very adorable bride and groom getting ready for their big day!

I went in to visit Adrienne and Joe on Friday evening and their decorations were simply wonderful. Which was exactly what the bride was going for. I was witnessing what I called, "A Pintrest Lover's Haven". I didn't ask the bride if she used Pintrest for any of her ideas, but if these ideas of hers were put on that site... they would have been hits for wedding decor ideas!

I loved everything about this reception. There were slabs of wood where the pies were going to be placed.. PIES! That is so perfect for this time of year, and a GREAT way to break out of the mold of traditional cakes or cupcakes.

The groom-to-be was helping hang more decorations from the ceiling in the entrance way. There were lanterns and very simple, but unique, mason jars with dried peas and such.. or bird seed... layered in the jars which were hanging from some wire.

I took the bride aside to ask her a few questions about her planning process and near-future hubby.

She was a very sincere, and down-to-earth person to talk to. She and Joe met at the University of Duluth through mutual friends. They were friends for about 3 years when they figured out that moving on from college was sad to each of them and that maybe they were meant to be more than friends. According to her, she told her fiance before he proposed that he didn't need to stress about asking her or plan any theatrics. She just wanted to marry him and that was all that was important. HOW BEAUTIFUL! He proposed to her one day when she came home and made simple dinner plans. A perfect proposal for the two of them :)

Adrienne and Joe booked the Garden Room in October of 2011. She said the reasons she decide to go with the Garden Room were because of the fun and unique dimensions of the space and the fact that you still get the "outside" feel with the comfort of not having to worry about the weather. (She originally was going to have an outdoor wedding!)

Their process has been wonderful with Cindy. She loves that she not only had an easy time with Cindy, but also that Cindy has been able to help offer so many ideas and suggestions for decor and such.

ADVICE FROM  ADRIENNE:
There will always be bumps in the road. Don't make a big deal over the decorations or stress terribly about the planning process if things don't go your way. You have to remember what you are doing all of it for, and just remember it's about the day.

Nicole and Matt's Wedding at the Garden Room

Nicole and Matt were married on September 9th, 2012 at our Garden Room or Eden Prairie.

I went in to the Garden Room on Friday while they were setting up to see the progress as well as get a little bit of insight from the busy bride!

They were women, and men, on a mission! Each member of the wedding task force was working very hard. I was VERY impressed by the way they moved from area to area making it just perfect for the big day ahead!

I took Nicole aside and asked her a few questions to get some insight into the mind of the bride!

Their history!
Nicole and Matt met each other through mutual friends at a barbecue. They were friends for 6 months and then started dating. They were together for 2 and a half years before he proposed :)

They booked with the Garden Room in February of 2012. Nicole had heard about the Garden Room from some of her clients (she works at a salon). She also took a look at the Garden Room's Facebook.

She enjoyed working with Cindy, our event coordinator, because of her fun and easy going personality. She also claimed that the process was easier to go through with Cindy there to help her out!

ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES:
Nicole wants all future brides to know out there that you shouldn't put things off until last minute. You think that the easy things can be put off and putt off, but they will not seem so easy if you put them off until the last second. So plan your time out wisely.

Cold Feet? Not With These Beauties!

Wedding Footsies!
Today we will be talking about a rising trend we have seen at the Garden Room regarding feet!~

Have you noticed that while women are keeping the traditional outfits at the wedding consistent ( the white gown, the tuxes, the matching or close to matching outfits in the bridal party) they are starting to jazz up the one thing that has had less of a traditional attachment... their feet!

As we have seen with women, there is a stigma around shoes and shoe shopping! Most of the time there probably is, but when it comes to your big day its not about $$$ or diamonds or the size of your heel or what compliments you think you will get- its about your idea of a perfect shoe for you!

Keeping it fun with creative looking heels

Some women have chosen to go with the traditional heels, but instead of keeping them neutral or matchy-matchy with the outfits some women have found ways to spice out their outfit with more interesting color choices of heels.

Check out these black heels! They really do add a certain kick to the outfits don't they?!

Adding Some Personality

Some women look at the shoes as a way to add some personality to the wedding! Women have worn styles ranging from rain boots to cowboy boots to no shoes at all!

These women have chosen rain boots that each match the individual's personality! Isn't that awesome!?!

We had another bride at the Garden Room who wore these relaxing, cute toms! Talk about a night of easy dancing on your feet!

Keeping it traditional

While some women use the shoes as an opportunity to spice up their style and show their personality, others see them as a time to give their feet a luxury ride for a night!

Some women choose to keep the white wedding shoes and feel like Cinderella on their magical evening of bliss. They want a glass slipper and luckily for these princesses... the night doesn't end at midnight!

No matter what the shoe- these brides have all chosen the perfect fit for them!

Garden Room Recommendations:

Cindy ~
I wanted to write a testimonial about the great experience I received from you and the stuff at the Garden room during our wedding! You were awesome and you really made our day a very special one. We still talk about the Garden room and what an angel you were to us. And oh my goodness the food, we still dream about it :) We keep saying we should have asked you to wrap some for my husband and I to take to our hotel room :) lol since we couldn't eat much during the ceremony. But we still get great great compliments about the food, venue and service.

~We had a fantastic wedding at the Garden Room in October 2011. We chose the Garden Room because we wanted to have our ceremony and reception at the same location. We loved the Garden Room itself with its wall of windows and interesting floor plan. We also really liked the atrium space for the social hour between the ceremony and reception as the room was changed over.

The best part of having our wedding at the Garden Room was the wonderful staff there. Everyone there was an absolute pleasure to work with, from kitchen staff to wait staff to bartenders to set-up and take-down crews. And of course we couldn't have had such a lovely wedding without the help of Cindy Walker, the coordinator of the Garden Room. She had so many good ideas and a can-do attitude. We felt so comfortable with Cindy in charge--we just knew every detail would be taken care of.

Our guests gave rave reviews to the Garden Room as well, especially for the food. They loved the angel chicken and walleye. They also liked being able to step outside onto the patio area that is connected to the Garden Room.

We had an unbelievably beautiful wedding and we are so grateful to the staff at the Garden Room for making it so!
